Mobile video streaming service Bambuser has enhanced its service by adding 'talkback' for journalists and other video professionals. It'll allow media companies to conduct broadcasts from a mobile phone whilst also maintaining voice contact between the studio and broadcaster.

A new report from Gartner has revealed the operating systems used in the last quarter's smartphone sales. Once again Symbian was the most-used operating system, although its 36.6% market share was down several percentage points from last year.

Providing feedback to the diabetes patient about a change in dosage following review by the physician makes the solution even better. Linking devices that automatically monitor blood sugar levels and dispense insulin involving a remote computer and physician to monitor the real-time situation moves the solution on a level still. All these examples show how mobile technology can be used to improve quality of life.

Unified communications provider Daisy Group plc has agreed to acquire rival telecoms supplier SpiriTel in a deal that values SpiriTel at £27.3m. SpiriTel itself is no stranger to consolidation, having acquired 12 businesses in the last four years.
