No plans for release in Europe

Google-owned Motorola Mobility has announced its new Moto X smartphone, promising that every Moto X sold in the USA will also have been assembled in America.

The handset will be available in the US, Canada and Latin America within the next few weeks, although there are currently no plans for a UK release.

There’s a 4.7-inch screen, a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm processor, a 10-megapixel camera and 16GB or 32GB of built-in memory. An ‘always on’ voice control option will enable it to respond to queries without consumers touching the Android-powered phone.

More than 2,000 combinations of case colours, memory and multimedia are available to specify and order online. In addition, black and white models will be available at AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular, Verizon Wireless, Best Buy and other national retailers. Subsidised pricing is expected to be $199 (£131) with a new two-year agreement.
