Samsung Electronics has shaken up its leadership team by appointing a new CEO, COO and CFO.
Geesung Choi is now President and CEO, moving from his role as head of the company's Digital Media and Communications Business. Ju-Hwa Yoon is the new Chief Financial Officer and Jay Y Lee takes the newly-created position of Chief Operating Officer.
Samsung also said each of its seven business units will now be managed similarly to a stand-alone company with their own Presidents and CFOs.
Yoon-woo Lee, who had been Vice Chairman and CEO since 2008 – taking over after a tax evasion charge that saw the son of Samsung's founder resign - will continue to be Chairman of the Board of Directors. [Press release]
