ExclusiveWikipedia project uses QR codes to catalogue Monmouth

The Welsh town of Monmouth is having QR codes - mobile barcodes - added to landmarks and other points of interest. It’s a project called Monmouthpedia, which is described as the first Wikipedia project to cover a whole town.

The QR codes will link to articles on notable places, people, artefacts, flora and fauna in a wide variety of languages including Welsh.

ExclusiveArise Sir Jonathan Ive, iPhone designer

Jonathan Ive, the British-born designer who’s been responsible for the design of many Apple products, has been awarded a Knighthood in the 2012 New Year Honours list “for services to design and enterprise”.

He’s been in his current Apple role since 1996.

ExclusiveIntel announces new chips for netbooks

The tablet hasn’t killed off the netbook, according to the latest news from Intel.

It’s announced the availability of the latest Intel Atom processors, which had previously been code-named ‘Cedar Trail’.
