BlackBerry has appointed Marty Beard as Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect.
Until last month Mr Beard was Chairman and CEO of cloud-based customer service specialist LiveOps. Previously he’d been President of messaging business Sybase 365, which is particularly notable because BlackBerry CEO John Chen was CEO and Chairman of the Sybase parent company during this period.
John Chen said “BlackBerry continues to attract top talent to the company. Marty brings extensive experience in operations, marketing and serving customers through the best technologies and processes available.”
