Data Select announces new JCB Toughphone devices, including "world's toughest smartphone"

Earlier this year, construction equipment manufacturer JCB and Motorola Mobility produced a special edition of the Motorola DEFY+ smartphone. Now there’s more news from JCB as it unveils a new generation of JCB Toughphones in partnership with Data Select.

JCB and UK distributor Data Select have worked together to develop three new rugged mobile phones, with one of the devices claiming to be the world’s toughest smartphone.

The JCB Toughphone Pro Smart is waterproof and dustproof to IP67, runs Android v2.3 on an 800MHz processor and has a two-year warranty. It’s accompanied by the Sitemaster 2 - also IP67 certified and also one ton pressure tested - and the IP54-spec Sitemaster 3G.

Jason Kemp, Marketing Director at Data Select, said “These three handsets mark the future of tough technology and and are a welcome extension of an already impressive range of phones.”
