HTC quarterly results show profit drop

HTC has released unaudited results for the fourth quarter of its 2012 financial year; audited results are expected within a few weeks.

Total revenue for Q4 reached NT$60.0 billion (£1.29 billion), operating income was NT$600 million and net income after tax was NT$1.0 billion.

It’s the lowest quarterly profit figure for several years from HTC and is 91% down from the same quarter in 2011, although CEO Peter Chou has recently expressed optimism about the company’s future.
