New text enquiry service from Maureen 118212

Directory enquiry service Maureen, which is backed by Independent Radio News and operates the 118 212 enquiry number in the UK, has launched a new ‘ask anything’ service that allows customers to ask any type of question on any subject.

The 'ask anything' service can be accessed as a voice call or by text message. When a voice call is made, the contact centre operator decides whether the question can be answered using the standard Maureen 118212 directory enquiry service. If not, the caller’s question is allocated to the new ‘ask anything’ service. It's then answered by text message, as are queries submitted by SMS.

The call centre is run by KC Contact Centres (KCOM Group), content management is handled by WIN and the questions are answered by Quext.
