p>Nokia has introduced a ‘premium’ feature phone with a slim aluminium body and 5 megapixel camera. The
Nokia 515 will be available in single SIM and dual-SIM versions, with SIM-free pricing from around £115 incl. VAT.
Although there’s no front-facing camera, spoken prompts will help the user ensure they’re in the frame before taking a self-portrait.
Other features include scratch-resistant Corning ‘Gorilla Glass 2’ 2.4-inch screen, 3G HSDPA connectivity, HD Voice, pre-loaded social networking apps and a battery standby time of up to 38 days. It’ll run on Nokia’s Series 40 software platform.
Peter Griffith, Head of Mobile Phones Industrial Design at Nokia, said “When designing the Nokia 515 we set out to create a beautifully designed phone that people will be proud to own. We believe we've achieved that - the Nokia 515 is designed for people who prefer classic design, crafted to perfection and with the functionality they need for everyday use. We have created something that performs stunningly, without compromise.”
Global rollout will begin this month, with Russia, Germany, Switzerland and Poland expected to be the first countries receiving the phone.
