Samsung Galaxy SIII joins the Quick Tap portfolio

The Samsung Galaxy SIII is the first Android smartphone available with Orange’s Quick Tap contactless payment service.

Customers will be able to load money onto the phone using any UK MasterCard or Visa card and can then pay via NFC technology.

Recognition of contactless payments almost doubles in the UK

84% now recognise the contactless payment symbol

Credit card business Barclaycard has published new research showing that most British people now recognise the symbol for contactless payments.

84% can identify the symbol for paying via contactless card or NFC mobile phone, which is almost double the figure from a year ago.

Barclaycard offers stick-on NFC credit card for 'mobile' payments

Barclaycard, part of Barclays Retail and Business Banking, has launched a new way for UK customers to pay with their mobile phones. It’s called Barclaycard PayTag and is effectively a small NFC credit card that can be stuck to the back of a mobile handset.

The sticker will operate as an additional card on a Barclaycard customer’s existing account.
