TomTom signs deal with Samsung to put maps on bada smartphone

Navigation business TomTom has signed a deal with Samsung that’ll see TomTom maps and location content used on the Wave 3 bada-powered smartphone.

The agreement will give Samsung access to TomTom’s global maps and premium location content, including map coverage for over 200 countries plus points of interest, 3D city maps, traffic updates and safety camera alerts. Pricing and availability hasn’t yet need confirmed.

David Noh, Vice President & Head of the Technology Alliance Group at Samsung, said “As we strive to deliver innovations for the global smartphone market, location-enabled content and applications are increasingly important to our customers. We needed a partner that could deliver to our strict requirements for quality and TomTom rose to the occasion.”
