Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones revealed at Mobile World Congress 2016

Samsung Electronics has revealed its new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge Android smartphones in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2016.

Both are equipped with a ‘Dual Pixel’ 12-megapixel camera for faster autofocus, are waterproof (IP68 rating), are equipped with wireless charging technology and have a microSD memory card slot.

The Galaxy S7 has a 5.1-inch Quad HD screen, while the S7 edge has a 5.5-inch screen. Both will be available from mid-March 2016.

DJ Koh, President of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business, said “We believe in a world that is brighter, sharper, more convenient, and more fun. We strive to deliver on that vision with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge by marrying elegant design with functionality and providing a seamless mobile experience. We empower consumers with technology to help them get more out of life and will continue to push the frontier of what’s possible.”

In addition, the company announced a 360-degree camera called the Samsung Gear 360, which is equipped with two 15 megapixel image sensors for capturing high-resolution videos that can be viewed conventionally or on a Gear VR virtual reality headset.
