UK-based mobile marketing business 2ergo - the company behind a number of high-profile campaigns including the Pizza Express app - is helping retailers to set up a mobile presence while avoiding common pitfalls.

It’s published a free white paper entitled ‘Mobilising Your Business - the time is now’, which can be downloaded from the company’s web site.

John Barratt, product lead for 2ergo, predicts what lies ahead within the mobile marketing arena for retailers in 2012:

1. Mobile search marketing spend to increase significantly in 2012.

Mobile specialist business 2ergo is collaborating with the Callcredit Information Group to provide customers with a detailed insight into the UK’s mobile phone users.

Callcredit’s consumer data - which includes demographics, credit information and lifestyle data - will be integrated into 2ergo’s recently-launched mobileDNA platform.

76% of UK high street retailers don’t have a mobile website or mobile-optimised content, according to a YouGov survey commissioned by mobile marketing and business solutions company 2ergo.

And even mobile-ready retailers are poorly prepared, with almost 20% lacking m-commerce capabilities and many others choosing to focus on iPhone users.

2ergo, recently in the news after developing an iPhone app for Pizza Express, has launched a new mobile marketing service for businesses.

It's called mobileDNA and gives businesses the chance to send targeted offers and vouchers to mobile phone users.

Mark Windle, head of marketing at OpenCloud, predicts that this year’s reduction in the number of traditional telecoms operators in some countries will provide an opportunity for other operators to innovate and capture market share in 2016.

He says next year will be a year of rapid change for telecoms… whether it’s MVNO disruption, competitive tariff pricing or simply defence from the ‘dark art’ of hacking.
