Microsoft’s pricing for its forthcoming Surface tablets was revealed in the USA earlier today, although pre-order information now appears to be unavailable on the Microsoft website. UK pricing and a release date remain unconfirmed.
The lowest-priced Microsoft Surface device running the Windows RT operating system - a ‘built in’ version of Windows 8 - was $499 for the 32GB version. The keyboard ‘Type Cover’ is an additional $129.99. That’s around £310 for the tablet and £81 for the cover, making it less than a similarly-specified Apple iPad.
Surface tablet sales in the United States are expected to begin on 26th October.
