LG has announced a new smartphone with its largest display yet. The LG Optimus G Pro has a 5.5-inch HD display (1920 x 1080 pixel) and will debut in South Korea this week. It’ll also be shown at Mobile World Congress.
As well as offering LG’s largest mobile phone screen so far, the Optimus G Pro has a large 3,140mAh battery as well. In addition, it offers specially-developed multimedia features including ‘dual recording’ - capturing video with the rear-facing 13-megapixel camera and the front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera simultaneously - and a ‘Virtual Reality Panorama’ that allows consumers to capture a full 360-degree view. The phone runs Android v4.1 on a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor.
Dr Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said “The Optimus G Pro was developed specifically to deliver vivid and superb picture quality in a large display smartphone form factor. We will continue to expand our position in the premium LTE smartphone segment with our superior display technology and unique user experience.”
