BlackBerry to close BBM Music service

BlackBerry is reported to be closing the BBM Music service in June, less than two years after it was launched.

BBM Music was announced in August 2011 and came to the UK in November of that year, with customers charged £4.99 per month to pick their favourite songs and listen to their friends’ favourites. The app hasn't been ported to the new BlackBerry 10 platform.

As an alternative, BlackBerry users are being encouraged to try streaming service Rdio.
