Supermarket chain Tesco is planning to launch an own-brand smartphone by the end of this year. The news was revealed by Tesco CEO Philip Clarke during an interview with the BBC’s Wake Up to Money radio programme.
The phone - expected to use the same Hudl brand as the company’s tablet - will be sold with apps for Tesco services already installed.
In addition, he said an updated version of the Tesco Hudl Android tablet is due to be released in September.
According to the BBC, the new Tesco Hudl smartphone will be a high-spec device running Android.
