O2 launches its own debit cards

Mobile network O2 has launched a new financial service in the UK called O2 Money. It’s based around two pre-paid Visa cards (supported by NatWest) called Load and Go and Cash Manager. The cards are exclusive to O2 customers and will send text updates whenever money is spent. Cash Manager is for adults, while Load and Go is for young people aged 13 and over. The ‘youth’ card is restricted to a maximum holding of £1,800 in a year and won’t work with online gambling sites. Both cards will be available from the middle of August. [Press release]
