The WiFi-only version of the Apple iPad tablet computer went on sale in the United States from 3rd April. UK sales of the WiFi-only and 3G/WiFi versions are expected to start at the end of this month.
Market intelligence company iSuppli says worldwide sales of the iPad in 2010 are expected to exceed 7 million units, doubling to 14.4 million units in 2011 and increasing further to 20.1 million in 2012.
