Nokia Comes With Music is saying goodbye to the UK

Nokia’s Comes With Music service – later renamed Ovi Music Unlimited –  is being withdrawn from 27 countries including the UK.

The service was launched in 2008, giving customers a year of unlimited downloads from the Nokia Music Store when they chose a Nokia ‘Comes with Music’ mobile phone. After the year they could keep the music they’d downloaded, although Digital Rights Management prevented the songs from being transferred to other mobile devices.

Phones with music subscriptions will still be available in China, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey and South Africa.

The Ovi Music Store, which sells individual tracks and albums, is not affected.
