Samsung chooses Red Bend for over-the-air mobile updates

Samsung Electronics has licensed Red Bend’s suite of Mobile Software Management solutions for software management, device management and firmware over-the-air updating (FOTA). It joins 80 device manufacturers, mobile operators, semiconductor vendors and automotive companies that have included Red Bend’s software in more than 1 billion mobile phones and connected devices.

Red Bend software will be used in a range of Android phones, including the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S II models, along with Galaxy Tab tablets.

Yoram Salinger, CEO of Red Bend, said “Samsung has become the choice for so many mobile consumers because of the compelling design, quality, performance and features of its smartphones and tablets. We are proud that Samsung relies on Red Bend’s Mobile Software Management solutions to enhance consumer satisfaction by providing software over-the-air updates to its innovative, application-rich mobile devices.”
