The recently-formed mobile payment and mobile advertising partnership between Everything Everywhere, O2 and Vodafone is reportedly the subject of a legal complaint to the European Directorate General for Competition. The joint venture, which was announced in June, didn’t include Three UK among its founders - although they said it was welcome to join.
Three has complained to the European Commission, claiming the decision to exclude it was anti-competitive. It’s thought the ‘big three’ networks will approach the EC for approval later this year.
