Vodafone confirms possible interest in CWW

Following press speculation at the weekend, Vodafone has confirmed it’s “in the very early stages of evaluating the merits of a potential offer” for CWW (Cable & Wireless Worldwide). It points out there’s no certainty that an offer will be made.

C&WW deals primarily with providing telecoms services to larger customers. The company was originally founded 150 years ago and grew into one of the UK’s biggest companies before splitting into two businesses - Cable & Wireless Communications and Cable & Wireless Worldwide - in 2010.

Former Vodafone UK CEO Gavin Darby is currently Chief Executive Officer of C&WW.
