Apple has sold three million new iPad tablets since Friday

Apple says it’s sold three million of its new iPad tablets since the device went on sale last Friday morning. The new iPad is currently available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Switzerland, UK, the USA and the Virgin Islands. A further 24 countries will start selling it from 23rd March.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said “The new iPad is a blockbuster with three million sold - the strongest iPad launch yet. Customers are loving the incredible new features of iPad, including the stunning Retina display, and we can’t wait to get it into the hands of even more customers around the world this Friday.”
