ExclusiveThe end of unlimited* mobile data has almost arrived

Mark Bridge writes:

Unlimited mobile data. Once upon a time, it seemed that everyone offered it. Not that mobile data was ever really unlimited – there tended to be a ‘fair usage’ clause tucked away in the terms and conditions – but the word ‘unlimited’ was used a lot. ExclusiveYou can't stop the news when it goes mobile (part 2)

Mark Bridge writes:

We start this week's podcast with two news stories from Ofcom. Not only has the regulator announced its plans for the UK's 4G spectrum auction, it's also released research that shows we're texting more than we talk.

There's a look at the changing relationship between HTC and Beats Electronics, O2's apology for the network outage earlier this month and the Wholesale Applications Community's integration into the GSMA.

In addition, today's edition of The Fonecast browses through the latest quarterly results from Nokia, Microsoft, Google and Vodafone as well.

You can listen to the programme on our website audio player, via iTunes, by using our RSS feed or by downloading the mp3 and OGG audio files directly. Alternatively, install the Android, iOS or webOS Stitcher Radio app and stream the podcast straight to your mobile phone.
