Stockholm-based mobile payment service iZettle has announced it’s now able to accept American Express cards in Sweden and Finland. The company was already able to accept MasterCard, Visa and Diners Club payments via its card reader and app.

iZettle’s reader plugs into an iPhone or iPad and turns it into a mobile payment terminal for ‘chip and PIN’ credit cards.

Werner Decker, Senior Vice President for American Express Merchant Services Europe, said “I am delighted to announce the signing of iZettle. Sole traders and mobile merchants in Sweden and Finland using iZettle can now offer their customers greater payment choice. In addition, our Cardmembers can now use their American Express Cards to pay for products and services from merchants who earlier didn’t have a solution to accept cards.”

The iZettle solution is EMV approved and is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

We spoke to Jacob de Geer, iZettle CEO and co-founder, at Mobile World Congress in February. You can listen to the interview (which starts after around 12 minutes) via the built-in audio player on our website or by downloading the MP3 file.

The most memorable moments in life often go unrecorded. You don't have your camera in your hands. Your finger is still hovering over the 'pause' button on your audio recorder. Or you were simply too busy experiencing whatever was happening. It's all about the one that got away.

That's where Kapture can help.
