The Samsung Galaxy SIII is the first Android smartphone available with Orange’s Quick Tap contactless payment service. Customers will be able to load money onto the phone using any UK MasterCard or Visa card and can then pay via NFC technology. Anyone who buys or upgrades to the phone between 5th September and 5th October 2012 will also receive a £50 credit on their contactless account.
The phone behaves in the same way as a Barclaycard contactless debit card, enabling customers to make payments of up to £20 by touching it against a payment terminal. NFC contactless payments are available from over 100,000 locations nationwide, including McDonalds, M&S, Co-op Food, Prêt a Manger, EAT, the M6 Toll Road, Little Chef, Wembley Arena, Subway and Wilkinson.
