Microsoft has revealed some of the figures that followed its recent Windows Phone 7 launch. Achim Berg, Microsoft’s vice president of business and marketing for Windows Phones, has been talking about the platform in an online interview.
Windows Phone 7 launched in Europe and the Asia Pacific region on 21st October, followed by a US and Canada launch on 8th November.
Mr Berg said sales were “ramping well” and “in line with our expectations”, noting that mobile operators and retailers had bought over 1.5 million WP7 phones from manufacturers in the first six weeks. He said the company now had 18,000 developers who were developing for its marketplace.
