3.5mm audio plug and microUSB to be mobile industry standards?
US-based trade group CTIA – The Wireless Association says it want to see the 3.5mm headphone socket become an industry standard for mobile devices. It also wants micro-USB connectors to be used for data and charging (and for digital audio). The announcement follows the mobile industry’s commitment earlier this year to adopting micro-USB for a ‘universal’ charger. [Press release]
