39% of UK customers ready to drop fixed-line phones at home

New research commissioned by femtocell and mobile broadband equipment manufacturer Airvana and conducted by YouGov has revealed that many UK consumers could be ready to dispense with fixed-line telephony altogether. Only call and data quality stand in the way.

39% of the population said they'd use their mobile as their only home telephone service if the quality was at least as good as a traditional landline, rising to 59% of 18 to 24-year-olds.
