Nokia says its Nokia 808 PureView will start shipping this month. The cameraphone, which was announced at Mobile World Congress, combines a 41-megapixel sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, and sophisticated imaging algorithms. Images can be produced at a maximum of 38 megapixels.
In addition to its photo technology, the Nokia 808 PureView includes 1080pHD video recording and playback, high-quality audio recording and Dolby Digital Plus surround sound.
Jo Harlow, Head of Smart Devices at Nokia, said “PureView has completely raised the bar on imaging performance for the whole smartphone industry - and Nokia is not stopping here. We’re going to carry on developing PureView for our future smartphones in ways that will again revolutionize the imaging experience.”
Nokia also says it’s extended its partnership with Carl Zeiss; a relationship that began in 2005.
