65,000 Android smartphones shipped every day

Google CEO Eric Schmidt has told shareholders that shipments of Android-powered smartphones are hitting 65,000 per day. There are now 34 different Android OS phones on sale in 49 countries worldwide.

In other Google news, a giant Frozen Yoghurt sculpture has been delivered to Google HQ, suggesting that 'Froyo' version 2.2 of the Android operating system could be revealed next week.
