An interview with Google CEO Eric Schmidt in The Guardian says that 160,000 Android-powered mobile phones are activated per day, the equivalent of 4.8 million in a month. The company also said there were now around 65,000 applications available from the Android Marketplace, an increase of 15,000 apps from last month.
