The J.D. Power and Associates 2009 UK Mobile Phone Customer Satisfaction Study has ranked Virgin Mobile top for satisfying ‘pay monthly’ customers with O2 ranking top for prepay deals.
Virgin Mobile was also ranked highest in 2007 and 2008. This year it scored 718 points out of 1000; it was followed by O2 with 698 points and Orange with 673. When it came to prepay, O2 gained 734 points out of 1000, followed by Tesco Mobile on 710 and Virgin Mobile with 691.
The study also noted that average ‘pay monthly’ spending had dropped from £31.45 in 2008 to £26.87 in 2009, while prepay customers were spending £12.09 monthly - approximately the same amount as in 2008. [Press release]
