Orange removes DRM from its music store

Orange has announced that it’s offering DRM-free music downloads on its Music Portal at Orange.co.uk/music and also on its mobile Orange Music Store. From today, Universal Music, EMI Music and a number of independent labels will offer over 700,000 tracks via Orange without Digital Rights Management – and additional tracks will be added to the catalogue in the next few months.

Orange also offers the ‘Nokia Comes With Music’ service on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset; this will remain unchanged. Vodafone announced the removal of DRM from its music in March. [Orange press release]
