Symbian launches ‘record label’ for app developers

The Symbian Foundation has launched Symbian Horizon, an application ‘publisher program’ that it says is similar to a book publisher or record label. It’ll help developers take their applications to market at no cost to the developer, handling everything from signing to uploading and payment processing. At the moment the service supports the Nokia Ovi Store, Samsung’s Application Store and the AT&T MEdia Mall, although other Symbian-friendly app stores are expected to be added to the list.
