Trade association says texting while driving is dangerous

CTIA – The Wireless Association, the US-based international wireless telecoms industry association, has issued a statement that says text messaging while driving is incompatible with safe driving. The group supports new laws to solve the problem but warns that laws alone won’t change behaviour.

It coincides with a new bill in the US Senate that – if passed - would require states to prohibit text messaging while driving or risk losing a substantial part of government funding. [Sources: Press release via BusinessWire; WashingtonPost.com]
