Government publishes Digital Britain report
As expected, the government has published its interim 'Digital Britain' report. (The final report is due in the spring). This interim report contains recommendations on next-generation networks, broadband access and the radio spectrum used for mobile networks. It wants mobile networks to agree to the reallocation of 2G frequencies and is also proposing that the current 3G licences could be allocated permanently as part of a 'Wireless Radio Spectrum Modernisation Programme'.
