Free VoIP calls for Twitter users without revealing phone numbers

VoIP service JAJAH has launched a beta version of JAJAH@Call that lets Twitter users make free phone calls via landline or mobile to other JAJAH@Call Twitter users. At the moment it’s only available to selected members in the USA and only permits two-minute calls.

JAJAH users who’ve signed up for the @Call beta simply send a tweet reading “@call @Twittername” (where “Twittername” is the Twitter username of the person they’re trying to call). The caller’s phone will then ring and, when answered, the call will be connected to the other person. All contact details are kept private, which means people can call fellow Twitterers without knowing their mobile or fixed-line phone number.
