The EU’s 2007 roaming cuts were legal, says advocate general

Advocate general Poiares Maduro has recommended that the European Court of Justice upholds the 2007 cut in roaming charges introduced by the EU. It’s the latest stage in a legal challenge that first saw Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile and Orange challenging the law in the British courts. The High Court asked the ECJ to rule on whether the roaming law was inappropriate or excessive – and it looks as though the ECJ will disagree with the networks. A final judgement has yet to be given.
