Augmented Reality services on mobile phones are likely to generate $732 million (£439 million) by 2014, according to a new report from Juniper Research. That's up from an annual global figure of under $2 million next year. The money will come from chargeable application downloads, subscription-based services and advertising.
Juniper Research says initial adoption of Augmented Reality will be driven by location-based search, although the dramatic increase in revenue will come from AR-enabled games and mobile enterprise solutions. 350 million mobiles are expected to be AR-capable by 2014. [Press release]
