Last year less than one million applications using Augmented Reality were downloaded to mobile phones – but by 2014 there'll be over 400 million per year, according to a new report from Juniper Research.
Most of these downloads will be location-based search apps, with games being the second most-popular choice. When it comes to money, the total annual revenues from AR-enabled apps are expected to reach $732 million in 2014, compared with a figure of under $2 million this year.
