New MeeGo mobile operating system is released

The Linux-based MeeGo operating system, revealed in February when Maemo and Moblin announced their merger plans, is now available to developers who want to test the system.

Developers have access to the MeeGo distribution infrastructure and the operating system base. It's the first stage of making the platform available for application development. A full release of MeeGo is expected in May.
