Symbian and Chinese search engine Baidu form partnership

Baidu, the world’s largest Chinese search engine provider, and the Symbian Foundation have said they plan to stimulate the development and launch of wireless 'box computing'.

'Box computing' search technology is intended to deliver exactly what the user wants rather than a link to it. For example, a user searching for anti-virus software would simply be asked if they wanted to download the software.

The partnership with Symbian should see Baidu bringing this experience to Symbian smartphones.
