Mobile money transfers deemed 'un-Islamic' by Somalian group

The Islamist al-Shabab (or al-Shabaab) group in Somalia has warned that transferring money by mobile phone is 'unIslamic', insisting that mobile banking could expose Somalia to interference by Western countries. A money transfer service was introduced to the country last year and is now available across Somalia. Al-Shabab has given the country's mobile money operators three months to end their services.
