Will Apple and Google introduce a seven-day trial period for apps?

TechEYE.net reports that consumer authorities in Taiwan’s Taipei City are insisting that Apple and Google both offer a seven day free trial on apps available through their sites. Apparently the companies have been given 15 days to comply.

It’s thought likely that both companies will comply on a local level rather than introducing worldwide changes to their app stores, although neither has issued a response.

It's reported that Apple and Google have responded in different ways: Apple has introduced a seven day trial period, while Google has removed paid apps from its store: www.taipeitimes.com/News/front/archives/2011/06/28/2003506866
