Google Maps adds location sharing

The new Google Latitude feature for Google Maps lets mobile phone users see the approximate location of friends and family. It's an opt-in service, so your location is only available to people you choose, and it's currently free to download for Blackberry, S60 and Windows Mobile devices, with Android and iPhone expected to follow shortly. The announcement comes just a few weeks after Google announced the closure of its Dodgeball location-sharing service. [Google blog]
