Ofcom's been asking consumers what affects their decision when choosing a communications provider. One of the answers was Quality of Service, which breaks down (no pun intended) into Technical service and Customer service. No surprises yet... but Ofcom went on to discover it's the technical service that tends to be the more important aspect. When it comes to the mobile industry, network coverage was the most important factor, particularly among customers with 3G mobiles. Customers also wanted to know whether you have to pay for technical support and how quickly customer service staff answered the phone. Ofcom says it'll publish a statement about this research in the spring. [Press release]
