BlackBerry says its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer have both left as part of the company’s ongoing reorganisation. In addition, Roger Martin has resigned from the BlackBerry board of directors after more than six years.
Kristian Tear became BlackBerry’s Chief Operating Officer in May 2012. He was appointed at the same time as Chief Marketing Officer Frank Boulben.
There’s one further change: Chief Financial Officer Brian Bidulka is being replaced by James Yersh, with Mr Bidulka remaining as a special advisor for the remainder of the financial year to help with the transition.
John Chen, the recently-appointed Executive Chair and CEO of BlackBerry, said “I thank Kristian and Frank for their efforts on behalf of BlackBerry. I look forward to working more directly with the talented teams of engineers, and the sales and marketing teams around the world to facilitate the BlackBerry turn-around and to drive innovation. I also thank Brian for his eight years of dedicated service to BlackBerry. I look forward to working with James and his Finance team as we move forward, execute on our plans and deliver long-term value for our shareholders.”
