Vodafone plans 150 new UK shops and 1,400 new retail jobs

Vodafone UK says it plans to open 150 new shops in the next 12 months, with 1,400 new retail jobs being created as part of the process. The company is describing it as a “£100 million boost to the UK’s high street”.

Overall, Vodafone UK expects to invest £1 billion in its networks and services this year: the highest amount since its creation in the 1980s.

Jeroen Hoencamp, Chief Executive of Vodafone UK, said “This year we’ll invest more than ever before to provide our customers with the strongest network and best services in the UK. We’re also committed to putting our brand and our people where our customers want us: right at the heart of their high street and shopping centre. Our £100 million retail investment this year will increase our ability to serve our customers better with highly skilled personal advice and support in 150 brand-new locations.”

The new expansion is expected to result in Vodafone having over 500 shops across the UK.
